Exhibition: Autoportrait
Place: By Trico, Fukuoka, Japan
Designer: Alex Rich, Field Trip
Date: 27 - 29 April 2006
During our show in Fukuoka, the house-owner of the at least 20 meters high building displayed to the right asked us to try to produce what would be Hektor’s first roof-top piece.
This turned out to be a major undertaking, as we wanted to install a wooden structure, to be on the safe side. Also, the sun was shining too strongly, interfering with Hektor's optical sensors. In the end, Alex Rich stayed on the roof an shielded the sensors against the sun while keeping the wind from twisting all the cables.
It worked out well enough, although one can still see the interfering of the strong winds.
This will all be solved in an upcoming outdoors version of Hektor. Stay tuned for more information about this.
